How to pay incentives

Paying incentives to your panelists can be done straight from Panelfox. You can also review overall panel incentive reports.

How to pay with Tremendous

Before you can pay incentives to your panelists, your Tremendous account must be connected with Panelfox first. If it's not connected yet, you can follow our How to set up Tremendous guide to set it up. 
Once your Tremendous has been connected, go to the  Overview sub-page of the study. You can pay panelists one at a time or simultaneously. Follow the steps below to know how:

Pay a panelist

  1. Click the name of the panelist to open their profile pop-up on the study.
  2. Click + Pay with Tremendous.
  3. The Pay Incentive with Tremendous window will pop up. Type the amount of payment on the textbox.
  4. Then, click the Pay Incentive button.

Pay multiple panelists simultaneously

  1. Select the panelists that you'd like to pay incentives to by ticking the checkbox that appears beside their names when you hover your mouse cursor over them.
  2. Click Bulk Actions then select Pay respondents from the drop-down options. 
  3. The Bulk Pay pop-up window will appear. From here, click the drop-down button for Payment action, then select Pay using Tremendous from the options.
  4. Add a value to the Amount textbox. 
  5. Click Confirm, pay [amount].

Update payment status

If you pay panelists with Tremendous, their payment status will automatically be updated to paid, including the amount paid. However, if you're not processing payments with Tremendous, you can still update their payment status. Like the paying process, you can do this one by one or simultaneously. Follow the steps below to know how.

Update a payment status

You can only use this method if you don't have Tremendous connected to your Panelfox account. Otherwise, you need to use the Bulk Pay to update one panelist's payment status.

Here's how you can update a payment status if you're not paying directly from Panelfox:

  1. Click the name of the panelist to open their profile pop-up on the study.
  2. Click + Mark as Paid
  3. A pop-up will appear at the top of your screen where you can type the amount paid on the textbox.
  4. After indicating the amount, click the OK button on the pop-up.

Update multiple payment status simultaneously

  1. Select the panelists that you'd like to pay by ticking the checkbox that appears when you hover over their name. If you'd like to select all panelists, click the ticked checkbox beside the Full name column header, then click Select all from the options. 
  2. Click the Bulk Actions button, then select Pay respondents from the drop-down options.
  3. Click the drop-down field below Payment action, then select Mark as paid from the options.
  4. Type the amount of the payment in the textbox below Amount ($ USD).
  5. Click the Mark as paid button.

How to pay with points

To pay respondents with points, go to Study > Study Settings and set Incentive to Points.

To assign points to the respondents, follow the directions above, using the Mark as Paid feature. Once the points have been assigned, respondents will be able to view and redeem their points - read the related guide.
