dscout Integration

This integration allows you to manage your panels in Panelfox while running research studies in dscout. Respondent data will sync both ways.

Requirements

  • Our team must enable this integration for your account
  • Your dscout missions must have:
    • "Bring your own scout" is enabled
    • Mission is "Launched"

Supported Missions

  • Live
  • Diary
  • Express
  • Recruit / Screen

Inviting respondents to a mission

This video provides an overview of the "respondent" experience from the stage of "panel signup" up through "invite respondent to a dscout mission".

To invite your Panelfox respondents to a dscout mission, navigate to a Study, then click Bulk Actions > Invite to dscout.

This will open up a new email message, which will contain an automatically-generated button, linking to the dscout mission splash page.

Send this email, and your respondents will receive their invites shortly in their inbox.

When the respondent clicks on Go to activity, they will land on the mission splash page, with their information pre-filled.

From here, they will login, accept the mission, and perform the tasks. To learn about the nuances between the mission types, scroll down.

Data Sync

Once a respondent (aka Scout) completes a mission, the integration will "sync" this data back to the Panelfox Study. These are the pieces of data supported:

  • Mission status
  • Incentive amount

Authentication for Express Missions

  • Scouts without an existing dscout account will land on a splash page with their information prefilled. They do not need to set a password, so account creation is just 1 click. Afterwards, they are logged in and can accept the mission.
  • Scouts with an existing dscout account will land on a splash page with their information prefilled. The next step for them is to "verify their email via magic link" for security purposes. Afterwards, they are logged in and can accept the mission.

Authentication for Live & Diary Missions

A password-less flow (used in Express missions) is coming soon.

  • Scouts without an existing dscout account will land on a splash page and must create an account with a password. Afterwards, they are logged in and can accept the mission.
  • Scouts with an existing dscout account will land on a splash page and must login with their correct credentials. Afterwards, they are logged in and can accept the mission.
